- Saup-Saup Foundation Chairman Donny De Leon Holds Stakeholders Meeting for Scholarship Distribution
- During a stakeholders meeting held via Zoom on November 7, Saup-Saup Foundation Chairman Donny De Leon announced the foundation's search for 25 deserving scholars from Concepcion, Lapaz, and Bamban. The foundation, established in 2003 and consisting of Concepcion OFWs living abroad, aims to support local students in their pursuit of education.
- Dr. Jocelyn Pili, school head of AGYHS, expressed gratitude to the foundation for their generosity and care towards the students. "Nagpapasalamat po ako sa inyo sa lubos ninyong pagkalinga sa munting paaralan, lalo na sa mga estudyante naming," said Pili.
- "We wanted to help our students because we see the future is bright for them, and they need a little push," stated Donny De Leon, a 68-year-old US Navy Veteran and a Balutu native who migrated to the US in 1970. All scholarship applicants will undergo screening, and their families will be assessed for eligibility.
- Currently, Saup-Saup Foundation supports 324 scholars from Tarlac, with 74% of them hailing from Concepcion, and the remaining students from Lapaz, Bamban, and Tarlac City. De Leon himself grew up in Balutu, where he completed his elementary and secondary education before moving to the US.
