Do you think you have tamed another and have tamed as well? Taming another is a concept derived from the story, The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, during an encounter between The Little Prince and the fox.
Taming is actually not an easy thing to do. Taming, which mostly applies to animals, basically means to cultivate or to make the animal less powerful and somehow under your control. In most context, taming is actually used for wild animals, hence the fox in the story. And yes, the Little Prince have tamed the fox and have been tamed as well in return.
WHY TAMING IS IMPORTANT
The so-called ritual of taming in the story is forming or setting ties between the one doing the taming and the other being tamed. With this, both have gained a special relationship to each other, a thing called loyalty.
Now, loyalty might be a common, used word but it is not easy to find. To have someone loyal by your side whom you know will never turn their back on you no matter how low or high you are in your current situation is very rare to find.
Most animals, when tamed, have this special instinct of kindness and thoughtfulness that will only be seen with the one who tamed them. It’s actually fascinating to see that and mostly reassuring to the person who tamed the animal.
TAMING PEOPLE
But, taming doesn’t only apply to animals. We, also tame other people as well as we tame ourselves. That’s why we have other people’s back or we listen to other people’s opinion on the things we do and how our personality and attitude grow along the way. These people let us know if something about us needs to be tamed and of course, we also tell them if there’s something to be tamed about them.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Yes, I can say that I have tamed and have been tamed as well. Not only by the people around me, but also through my life experiences that I have gone through.
