For
many years, red roses have been given to a lover as a way of
expressing affection and love. The ancient Greeks and the ancient
Romans believed that the red rose came from Aphrodite (Venus for the
Romans) who was the goddess of love. Over time, red roses became a
well known symbol of love in many cultures around the world. So the
blooming of red roses would signify the blooming of new lovers who
have just fallen in love with each other.
