Feedback mechanisms help the body to maintain homeostasis by adapting to changes. An example is the negative feedback mechanism of the Antidiuretic hormone (ADH). If we drink too much, body's threshold to water will be reached. What the body will do is that it will excrete the excess fluid by urination by shutting down the ADH. During dehydration, ADH levels will be increased to hold on to fluid that it needs to be able to perform necessary processes.
