1.Living things are able to reproduce themselves. If organisms fail to do this, populations will diminish and disappear as their members die from old age, disease, accidents, predation, etc.

2.With no predators to control the population and alter feeding behavior, the prey species quickly degrade and over-run its habitat. As food becomes scarce, the population becomes sick and malnourished, and will either move or crash.

3.A rainforest is an ecosystem characterized by heavy rain and a dense tree canopy that lets very little light through to the understory. A forest ecosystem must receive over 60 inches of rain per year to be considered a rainforest.
