Menstrual cycle of
women runs in a 28-day cycle. In the first 2 weeks of the said cylcle, the
pituitary gland releases a hormone called Follicle Stimulating Hormone or FSH which
comes from the adenohypophysis ot the anterior
lobe of the pituitary lobe. FSH stimulates the follicle of the ovary to grow
and activates the follicle cells to secrete estrogen. On the 14th day the hormones from
FSH switches to Luteinizing Hormone which stimulates ovulation that causes the
egg to pop out of the ovarian follicle.
