In the story of Keesh, his marvelous hunting was due to his headcraft, not witchcraft.
Upon setting forth to hunt, the council who has been accusing him for injecting witchcraft, sent two spies to track him and to see how he do his hunting. The two spies reported what they saw and concluded that Keesh was using charm to weaken the bear. Instead of being mad, Keesh voluntarily demonstrated how he do his hunting. And from that very moment, the council and the villagers were truly amazed by his method. It was not witchcraft indeed. it was headcraft.
