Last year, Mr. Rivera’s salary was P5,200. After salary increase, he now earns P 9,490. By what percent did his salary increase?

1) Find the amount of increase (Percentage):
    9,490 - 5,200 = 4,290

2)  Compute the Rate:
 
     Percentage = Rate x Base
     4,290 = Rate x 5,200

     Rate = 0.825 x 100
     
     Rate = 82.5 %
