As you get to familiarize yourself with the different literary pieces from pre-colonial to contemporary period, you will get to know how literature evolves through the years. In the earlier parts of the module, you are expected to: a. identify the geographic, linguistic, and ethnic dimensions of Philippine literary history from pre-colonial to contemporary, b. determine the representative texts and authors from each region; c. deduce the importance of strengthening Filipino identity by reading Philippine literature; and d. write a close analysis and critical interpretation of various literary texts, identifying the geographic, linguistic and ethnic dimensions and the representative texts and authors from each region.
