What are the stages of the mitosis?

Sagot :

The stages of mitosis are prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.

  1. Prophase  - Mitosis begins with this stage. In this stafe, chromosomes recruit condensin and begin to undergo a condensation process that will continue until metaphase.
  2. Prometaphase - begins with the fragmentation of the nuclear envelope into many  vesicles that will eventually be divided between the future daughter cells. It is an essential step for spindle assembly. At the end of this stage, the  kinetochores on sister chromatids are connected by microtubules to opposite poles of the spindle.
  3. Metaphase - during this stage, the centromeres of all the cell's chromosomes line up at the equator of the spindle.
  4. Anaphase -  in this stage, abrupt separation of sister chromatids is present.
  5. Telophase - stage at which the chromosomes reach the poles. The nuclear membrane reforms, and chromosomes  decondense into their interphase conformations.
