what did he warn icarus not to do

Sagot :

Answer:

What did he warn Icarus not to do?

While Daedalus and his son Icarus were held as captives on top of the tower after they angered King Minos, he figured out a way to escape from the island. After proceeding with and being done with his invention, Daedalus warned his son Icarus about two things.

The warnings that were given were:

  1. not to fly too close to the water.
  2. not to fly to close to the sun.

Explanation:

After finalizing his idea, he asked Icarus to help him gather materials for the invention. Daedalus planned to make wings for both of them so they can fly off the tower and return to Athens. These wings were to be constructed out of 3 materials that were available in the area.

The materials were:

  • wood
  • wax
  • feathers

They picked up pieces of wood wherever they can find them. It is likely that they were discarded materials that were used in the construction of the labyrinth.

The wax they have collected were drippings of candles which I would assume were the only source of light at night during that time.

The feathers were collected from those left by the birds that were common around the tower.

After having gathered all the materials needed to complete his invention, Daedalus started making the wings for him and his son. He used the pieces of wood to make the frame or skeleton of the wings. The feathers were then attached to the frame with melted wax.

When the wings were finished, they went on with their planned escape but not before warning the boy.
