Phase changes ( liquid ⇔ solid, solid ⇔ gas, liquid ⇔ gas)
Phase changes of matter is the ability of the a certain material to be able to change its physical state without changing chemically. Water is liquid but can become solid when you put it in a lower temperature causing the particle of water to freeze and becomes solid. This process is known as solidification (liquid turns to solid). When you put the ice of the frozen water into an area with hotter temperature, it will slowly melt and turns back to liquid but with the continues heat it will turn to gas in a process known as evaporation wherein liquid turns to gas.
Knowing the phase changes of matters at home is very important. Example, when you cook, you always add salt for the food to have a better taste, salt will melt when heated up and that is why you don't see it on a hot soup.
