Keeping Myself Safe From COVID-19
by: Dr. Carmelinda O. Galleposo
We have been facing the COVID-19 pandemic for more than two years. I miss
the face-to-face classes. Although I continue learning in homeschooling with the
modules, I wish to be in school. I learn more by listening to my teacher's discussion. I
understand better in the interaction with my classmates in the group activities.
Now, I am getting ready for the expansion of the limited face-to-face classes. I
am so excited to see my classmates again. Aside from a face mask, hand sanitizer, and
other important things needed to follow the health protocols set by the IATF, I also have
some white pebbles. My grandparents in the mountain give me these white
pebbles to
protect me from COVID-19 pandemic. They claim that these white pebbles protect them
from getting sick by putting these in their drinking water after washing thoroughly
.
They
believe that these white pebbles from their forefathers drive the evil spirit away.
